Nakanishi Board of Equalization Campaign Moving Full Speed Ahead
(Lodi, CA) – Former Assemblyman and Lodi Mayor Alan Nakanishi continues his fast paced campaign for California’s open 2nd Board of Equalization District, building strength with continued financial support and endorsements.

“We’re moving ahead with a substantial finance effort that will not only pay for the marquee slates upon which Alan will be featured, but will also allow for broadcast media and direct mail,” said Campaign Strategist Tim Clark. “Our team is expanding as Wayne Johnson and I once again join forces in this campaign for 2010, similar to Michelle Steel’s winning Board of Equalization campaign in 2006.”

Following the lead of winning candidates in other Board of Equalization seats, Alan Nakanishi has taken the strong early step of reserving positions on most Republican slate cards for the June 2010 primary election.

First elected to Assembly in 2002, Alan Nakanishi quickly earned a reputation as a fiscally conservative, taxpayer and small business advocate who fought to cut wasteful spending and oppose higher taxes. In 2004, Alan was a coauthor of California’s landmark Workers’ Compensation Reform law, which has resulted in lower premiums, better coverage for workers, and an end to the spiraling cost of workers’ compensation in California. Prior to joining the Assembly, Alan Nakanishi was elected to the Lodi City Council in 1998 and served as Mayor in 2001. In 2000, Alan Nakanishi was the Republican nominee against then Assemblyman Mike Machado for the open 5th Senate District, where he came within just a few hundred votes of winning that highly contested seat.

Doctor Nakanishi is a prominent Ophthalmologist and co-founder of Delta Eye Medical Group, a six physician group with three offices in the Central Valley. He and his wife Sue live in Lodi.
